MY STORY

A Kentucky Girl with a Suitcase Full of Stories

I make my home in Kentucky, surrounded by the family I love and the rolling hills that have quietly shaped my heart. After years of juggling a demanding career with a full life of church, community, and family, I recently stepped into a new season: I’m retired from my “day job” and writing full time. Calling this a dream come true hardly covers it.

My professional life began in military intelligence, where I learned to listen closely, pay attention to details, and never underestimate the quiet strength of ordinary people. Later, I moved into executive roles, partnering with youth-focused nonprofits and disaster relief organizations. Together, we worked to create safer spaces where children and communities could not only survive, but truly thrive.

Through every season, my faith and church family have been my anchor. I’m deeply involved in my local church and especially love serving as a youth group leader. Walking alongside teenagers as they navigate questions of identity, purpose, and faith has shaped the kinds of stories I want to tell: honest, hopeful, and rooted in grace.

When I’m not at my desk with a mug of tea and a stack of research books, you’re likely to find me reading, hosting tea parties for family and friends, planning the next gathering, or volunteering in my community. I love a full table, a good laugh, and the kind of conversations that linger long after the last guest has gone home.

WHY I WRITE

At the center of everything I write is this simple belief: stories can heal. They can remind us that we are not alone, that second chances are real, and that love — in all its forms — is worth fighting for.
